Bill Nighy reads Frank Baum’s true American classic, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
Swept away from her home in Kansas by a tornado, Dorothy and her dog Toto find themselves stranded in the fantastical Land of Oz. As instructed by the Good Witch of the North and the Munchkins, Dorothy sets off on the Yellow Brick Road to try and find her way to the Emerald City and the Wizard of Oz, who can help get her home. With her companions the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion, Dorothy experiences an adventure full of friendship, enchantment and danger. A much-loved children’ classic, the Wizard of Oz continues to delight young and old with its thrilling tale of witches, flying monkeys and magical shoes.
Ghost dogs and skeletons in a tall tale with a tender heart from the Caldecott Medal-winning creator of My Friend Rabbit. Gus doesn’t feel like doing much after his dog Ella dies. He doesn’t really even feel like dressing up for Halloween. But when Gus runs into a bunch of rowdy skeletons, it’s Ella–his very own Bone dog–who comes to his aid, and together they put those skeletons in their place. A book about friendship, loss, and a delightfully spooky Halloween.
3 books in 1, suitable for ages 3-9 years, includes a delightful, colourful, illustrated story about Mairi the Mole who digs her burrows under Anne’s lovely lawn and visits her veggie patch.
A note from the author, Andy Lee. This book was only ever meant to have one copy printed. I wrote it as a surprise for my sister and her husband to celebrate the 1st birthday of George (my nephew), but when I asked my mate to print me one copy he said, “This is good, can we print more?” So if you don’t think its good, take it up with my friend Horgs, not me!
A quirky little read, just a bit of fun and I rather enjoyed it – Yvonne.
